The first tip this evening comes from Istanbul, where Fenerbahce receives the Greeks’ visit to Olympiakos.
The hosts of the Fenerbahce are the trophy owners, winning the competition last year after the definitive victories with Real Madrid and Olympiakos in the Final Four. The Istanbul team is proposing a very strong seal this season, preserving Luigi Datome, Italian national basketball superstar. American Brad Wanamaker, who impressed last season at Darussafaka Dogus, was brought to the game.
Fenerbahce has suffered 4 wins in 6 games this season’s debut, the only defeats coming from Unicaja and Panathinaikos. They have been overtaken by the Italians from Olimpia Milano and have definitely imposed themselves on Turkey’s derby with Anadolu Efes, score 81-70, before winning against Valencia and Bamberg. Fenerbahce won the last 18 matches played on his own parquet in all competitions and ranks 3rd in the Euroleague.
Europe’s vice-champion, Olympiakos also made a good debut this season, with 4 victories in 6 matches in Euroleague. A very disappointing performance in the last home game lost with the rival Panathinaikos
Olympiakos has 3 international Greeks in the top 5, Papanikolau, Papapetrou and Printezis and is the 4th in the Euroleague.
Fenerbahce is an unstoppable force on my own parquet and I expect to expand its impressive series of consecutive wins today to the team that it defeated in the Euroleague final last year.
