The SV Sandhausen has missed it unlike in recent years, to get a cushion with a good start. Instead, the leaders had to pull the rip cord after only nine games and dismiss coach Kenan Kocak. Successor Uwe Koschinat got off to a dream start with a 4-0 win against FC Ingolstadt, but only scored five points from the next eight games until Christmas and also failed in the DFB Cup at 1. It is quite possible that coach Koschinat trusts for the second time in a row in the same starting line-up, which played well against Darmstadt over long distances, but ultimately could not be rewarded by a wrong decision by the referee. Nejmeddin Daghfous and Alexander Rossipal are still out of action.
