Bordeaux – Nantes Preview and Predictions (28.08.2016)

Bordeaux and Nantes meet Sunday, August 28, in the third round of Ligue 1.

In this round we get a very interesting match between two different styles of play. If Jocelyn Gourvennec and his students rely on offensive Nantes prefer a more cautious approach, priority is blocking the opponent. These philosophies were visible since the beginning of the season, Bordeaux offering very spectacular games (3-2 at home with Saint-Etienne and Toulouse 1-4 in the movement), while Nantes won a 1-0 game (vs. . Dijon) and lost one with the same result (vs. Monaco).

Both teams had a fairly quiet season 2015-2016, finishing in mid-table season: Bordeaux 11th place with 50 points, Nantes 14th place with 48 points. However, direct disputes were attractive, the first leg of the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux ending with a home win, 2-0, in return for the final table to look at the result 2-2.
