Calgary Flames – St. Louis Blues / NHL – Calgary and the Blues have not been playing well lately. But despite the poor results, the Blues continue to be in second place in the West and have as many points as Nashville. The Flames, on the other hand, are in tenth position in the West and have suffered three defeats in their last four games.
Calgary Flames
Calgary is one of the most inefficient teams in the Eastern Conference, which is the real problem. The team does not score many goals nor does it play particularly well in defense. At the beginning of the season, the Flames played well, but then dropped in the second half and had no winning streak more. The current month they started with a home win against Arizona. After that, however, there were again bad games and after the game against Arizona, they conceded three defeats in a row. Later it looked a bit better and they won against Montreal and Vancouver.
That did not last long and they lost the next three games. First away at Minnesota and then at home against the San Jose Sharks and the Predators. They were strong opponents. The Flames are obviously not good enough to fight the top teams. But in the last round they played much better and outclassed Vancouver away 6-1. Now they are playing against a much stronger opponent and it will not be easy.
St. Louis Blues
The blues played great from the start but have had problems lately. After a series of four wins in a row, they conceded two home defeats, against Lightning and Anaheim. The teams are all fighting for the top and both times the blues have never seriously threatened. First they lost to Tampa Bay Lightning 0-3 and then against the Ducks 1: 3. The fourth home game in a row was against Winnipeg.
Calgary Flames – St. Louis Blues TIP
The Flames and the Blues have already scored twice this season. In the first game, the blues won 5-2 at home. The second duel then won Calgary ahead of their own fans 7: 4. In the last five games, the Flames have only one win and if they do not get better, they will hardly win against the Blues.
